I was asked this question as part of my coursework at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Although I have previously had difficulty with openly sharing my personally charged emotions in a public forum, part of what I am trying to achieve is allowing myself to expose my thoughts and feelings. It is difficult for me, because by exposing my deeply held thoughts and feelings, I am allowing myself to be more vulnerable. I take a deep breath as I write the following response:
Personally, this work will allow me to be myself. I have struggled with the concept of “living in two worlds” for most of my life. My physical reality has been to raise my kids in an environment where I had to work many hours in a non-traditional role. While I love my career in the Public Works and construction arena, my spiritual self has reached out to natural and holistic world for replenishing my body and spirit as a coping mechanism for the reality of my stressful life. I am grateful to have attained recognition and success in my public endeavor, but I yearned for the peace of having balance in my life. Incorporation of my health counseling practice into my life will allow me to expose my holistic approach and be myself on a public level.
Professionally, my goal is to focus on working with women, and as a result of working with women, affecting the health and wellbeing of their children. Many professional women that I have worked with struggle with issues that limit their ability to have balance in their life while attaining success in their career of choice. My experience can provide a foundation from which to build a balanced approach towards attaining professional, spiritual, emotional, physical and financial success.
The impact that we have on others is incredidible. I have already been blessed with receiving appreciation from acquaintances because I positively impacted their life. At the time, I did not realize the impact that my actions and words would have on them. Many years later, I was confronted in a very powerful way and was told how much they appreciated my help. This is very powerful. Our actions have an effect on others – whether we realize it or not. This is a huge respnsibility which I do not take lightly.

Today, in my Distance Learning studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition ( http://www.integrativenutrition.com/ ), I became much more informed about water. Those of you who know me personally, know that I have a passion for the preservation of our natural resources as well as for promoting Water Conservation. The following websites were brought to my attention:
http://www.watercure.com
http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/e_ome_home.html
One of my classmates also brought my attention to the work of Raymond Grace: http://www.raymongraceprojects.com/waterproject.htm . Mr. Grace utilizes intent to purify and energize water.
I found all of the above links very powerful.
I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have.
Blessings,

Today, I give thanks for the many blessings in my life: My family, my country, amazing friends, good health, freedom and safety. I am grateful to our soldiers, who risk their lives on a daily basis to protect our freedom.
This day I pray that hatred be abolished and tolerance, respect and compassion prevail and that there be no more war.
I stand ready to assist in the dissemination of information that will help us live our lives in the healthiest and most sustainable manner possible, so that our children and grandchildren will inherit a better world than the one with which we were entrusted.
Above all, I send you many blessings, many hugs, many smiles and much, much joy & laughter.

I have some exciting news! I am beginning a new business as a Health Counselor. I will be working with people on how to improve their diet and lifestyle. As you know, I have always had an interest in health (or nutrition or healing) and have enjoyed sharing this knowledge with my friends, colleagues and family.
I decided that I wanted to increase this knowledge and learn, in a formal training program, how to live a better life through eating well and taking care of myself. I am currently enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. I am not
only learning how to take care of myself, I am also receiving very detailed and careful instruction on how to counsel others around food and lifestyle choices. It’s an exciting time!
I look forward to sharing more with you about my new career path, and all of the benefits of this work. I will begin conducting health consultations in the near future, to have the opportunity to provide support in creating a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. I’ll be in touch periodically to let you know how my training is progressing.
I hope you are well, and I wish you a great day!
Blessings,
Ruthie

Gushin and I attended the Dallas Wordpress Meetup today. It was organized by Tony Cecala. The speaker was Giovanni Gallucci. Giovanni is a master at his trade and a very informative and entertaining presenter. I am amazed at the number of social networking sites that are available and at how much I enjoyed the presentation.
I am using both Twitter and Facebook and hope to utilize both more effectively.
Thank you to Tony, Giovanni and the Art Institute of Dallas (who hosted the meeting) and Thanks to my Gushin for sharing it with me.
Blessings,
Ruthie ( aka Gushina)

I have just started my new venture. It is an e-commerce site featuring QUALITY essential oils.
William Chambers, a master in the arts of essential oils, provided me with some sourcing information as well as some safety precaution guidelines:
I asked him to explain to me why he included the following description in the sourcing information for the rosemary which I just ordered: “ct: 1,8″ and the word “cineole”. He explained that, for rosemary, 1.8 cineole is the most used, ‘eucalyptus-smelling’ variety. William said that, although the camphor variety is sometimes used, there are safety precautions that limit its use in larger doses, so it is not commonly used at all.
In William’s amazing way of simplifying the most complex information, he also gave me the following information:
Some plant species produce what are called different ‘chemotypes’. Rosemary officinale can grow with a predominance of 3 different chemical varieties. Rosemary chemotypes are: ct: 1,8 cineole (aka ‘eucalyptol’) usually from Morocco; ct: camphor normally grown in Spain; and ct: bornyl acetate, and verbenone (or ct: bav) from France.
He explained that Thyme also has various chemotypes: ct’s: thymol, linalol, geraniol, thuyanol, citral. It is very important to know which chemotype one has, because of possible contraindications and safety data (one particular chemotype might be safe for use and another chemotype might be an irritant).
It is important to research and understand the chemotype information of other essential oils as well. Some oils, like geranium, may have many different chemotypes, but only a few are harvested and distilled.
